The Family Strong Foundation, nonprofit organization established in St. Landry Parish in 2012, is hosting their annual FREE Female Entrepreneur Symposium & Women’s Empowerment Conference on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 8am to 8pm in Opelousas location to be announced. We have not confirmed our guest speaker for this year; however, previous guest speakers include TM Landry Founder Tracey Landry, School Board Vice-President Mary Ellen Donatto, Fox Rich, and Miss Louisiana USA 2016.

Free Computer Class for Seniors 50+

On  the third Saturday of each month Family Strong Foundation hosts free computer class for everyone but especially seniors over 50. The class are held at Holy Trinity Villa Apartments located at 422 Perry Lane in Opelousas. The class is free, however, registration is required; to register please contact FSF at 337-290-3723 or email us at familystrongfoundation@gmail.com.

501c3 Status

On August 5, 2013 we heard from the IRS and the Family Strong Foundation was granted 501c3 nonprofit public charity status.

The CEO of Family Strong Foundation (FSF) is Shonda Garner Brooks. Mrs. Brooks started FSF in December 2012 and has dedicated her life to the improvement and empowerment of the family in order to affect change in the world. Lofty goals but working together she believes we can accomplish anything.
